We have received word from the Tourism Division Of the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks that Home on the Range has been selected for their 2016 Kansas Bucket List campaign.
The purpose of the campaign, begun in 2015, is to collect nominations for top Kansas experiences everyone must have in their lifetimes. Through the Spring and Summer more than 1000 photos were collected using the hashtag #KSBucketList. An editorial board reviewed and pared the list down to 70 finalists which were announced in the 70th Anniversary issue of KANSAS Magazine. The entire list of finalists may be viewed at www.KSBucketList.com. Someone had a favorable experience at the Home on the Range resulting in our being nominated.
Kansas Tourism is continuing the Bucket List promotion in 2016. Everyone is encouraged to visit the HOR Site, take a picture at the Site, post it to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #KSBucketList (one entry per person per location). One random winner will be drawn each month and receive a prize with a grand prize winner being drawn at the end of 2016.
The Peoples Heartland Foundation and Home on the Range are proud to support this promotion of Tourism in Kansas and urge everyone to visit the 70 locations with one of them being the HOR Site.
We will work to keep everyone up to date as we progress; we invite and encourage anyone wanting to help us with this promotion to let me know. El Dean Holthus holt@ruraltel.net or 785-695-2347.
